Moroccan Crops defy IPCC report predictions
Here’s the source….African crops yield another catastrophe for the IPCC
It seems that in their haste to create the climate “crisis” that we have spoken of here before, the climate fear-mongers at the IPCC, notably their head fear-monger, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, have taken the answer to a purely hypothetical question put to the Moroccan government, and put it out there as the certain future.
The big “if” of the hypothetical was a drought. “IF” there was a drought, what would happen to the crops? Well, “if” there was a drought then there would be a 50% drop in crop yields. A pretty straightforward and reasonable answer to the hypothetical question. »» Moroccan Crops defy IPCC report predictions
A question…
If we follow the AGW debate and look for the motivators it becomes obvious that the preponderance of the movement politically is left or far left, and the solutions proposed to solve AGW are simply money transfers from developed countries to undeveloped or underdeveloped countries, as a kind of guilt money transfer, the very definition of extortion. »» A question…
This just in… actually it’s two years old
but it came up in debate recently.
In England, “Al Gore’s environmental documentary An Inconvenient Truth contains nine key scientific errors, a High Court judge ruled yesterday.”
So I decided to write some song lyrics about the situation and this is as far as I got;
Your Hockey Stick is a Fraud
We don’t need no propaganda
We don’t need no thought control
No left wing hatred in the classroom
Al Gore leave them kids alone
Hey! Al Gore! Leave them kids alone!
All in all that hockey stick is a fraud
All in all your hockey stick is a fraud.
I think you might know the tune…think Pink.

The Ultimate Tax: the Tax on Existence
Climategate. There’s Nixon’s contribution to the lexicon, the suffix “gate” to indicate any kind of scandal, coverup, fraud, political deception, etc. So, in the absence of anything less immediately recognizable we will go with it.
My first reaction to the news of the hack of the computers and the incriminating e-mail that was discovered at East Anglia in England was the ever useful colloquialism, “well, duh!” I was not in the least surprised to find out that there has been massive fraud among scientists of a certain political affiliation or sympathy in order to project this AGW (anthropocentric global warming) onto the general public and particularly onto the leaders of nations.
Nor am I surprised at the conclusion of many that the entire charade is not about the climate anyway. It is only a means to an end. That end is the separation of free people from their freedom and their money. This is the made-to-order tool for global re-distribution of wealth and the control of the West and the lifestyles and prosperity of the West.
We can remember Nikita Kruschev’s famous boast, “we will bury you!” and when we realize that many displaced communists found a new home in the environmental movement after the fall of the Soviet Union, it may be that our victory celebration over the defeat of the totalitarian ideology was premature.
The proof of what this is all about is right in front of our eyes. The MSM is skirting this thing right now but the information is getting out through the new media. One would think that there would be a lot of people who were genuinely worried about the threat to the planet, who would be immensely relieved to find that the evidence has been cooked up and it isn’t really happening. There should be a huge celebration of that fact wouldn’t you think? Hooray, we are not killing our planet after all. No, the reaction has been either spin or gnashing of teeth. Why? Because it was never about climate. It has always been about attacking free market capitalism. They say so themselves at various times over the years. Some are more forthright, others won’t admit it publicly. But beyond that, what is this great climate summit in Copenhagen all about? It’s all over the MSM. It’s about money. Huge transfers of wealth. That is the agreement they are looking for.
The carbon tax is a way to ensure that transfer in perpetuity. Think about that. Carbon is the stuff of all life here on planet Earth. To be able to tax it is diabolical genius. It is to tax dirt, air, plants, animals, all living things including human beings. It is the ultimate tax. It is quite literally a tax on existence.

America’s internal struggle
I was just in conversation today regarding the current political climate in America and I pointed out that the philosophical/ideological dividing line has never been so starkly defined. Here’s an example of what I mean;

And another one I can’t believe I said…
“I wish no poverty on my fellow man, nor persecution on my fellow Christians. The only real way to mitigate that, it seems to me, is have a system based on personal freedom, and minimal government. Despite its own flaws and inequities, and potential for great economic disparity, the dignity of human beings demands their freedom to do right, even if it risks their potential to do wrong. And if that is no longer possible, and authoritarian government is inevitable, then give me a Catholic king and a class system of nobility once more, over the godless totalitarians of the twentieth century.”
I can’t believe it was me that said that, because it makes so much sense. Poking through the Archives again, I was.
But yes, I have come to hold the above position, and socio/politically speaking it is what I call conservatism. That is the core of what I believe and there is no conflict, but rather a definite harmony with that political position and Catholic social teaching.
The problem with many Catholics today is that they have been conned into thinking that the only way that Catholic social teaching can be put into practice is through socialist heavy-handed government, and some even would go as far as totalitarian socialist government.
On the subject of lame arguments…
…here’s another in the great abortion debate. I was reading a discussion in the Catholic Answers Forums and a particular poster was defending a pro-choice position, as a Catholic, and from several different vantage points.
Needless to say she was out-numbered in that discussion but as I read her posts and got to know a little more about her it became apparent that she had had a tough upbringing and in her youth had aborted a baby, for which she was sorry and had confessed to a priest long ago. So, in some sense I sympathized with her and recognized her compassion for women from all sorts of circumstances. And yes, there are many extreme circumstances wherein we must, as Catholics, continue to provide all the support we can to women who are looking at abortion as their only option, and keep trying to persuade them that killing the innocent child is never an answer, regardless of how and when it was conceived. And we must continue to give them real options. That is what we do in the name of our Lord for the sake of both the mother and child, and we ask for the intercession of the mother of our Lord to help us and help those women. »» On the subject of lame arguments…
The argument keeps coming up lame
If you listen to the apologists for the honoring of President Obama at Notre Dame and the overall support of the left by certain persons who claim to be pro-life and announce that they want to reduce the numbers of abortions, invariably they get to the economic argument.
The argument in essence is that if women were financially secure (read government cheques in one form or another) they would not have a “need” to have an abortion. The connection then is that by having elected Obama over those evil heartless Republicans, there will be more wealth spread around and Presto!, less abortion.
Let’s think about that. »» The argument keeps coming up lame

Acquiescence
The progressives need something from the producers now, from the people who actually make the economy work. This will be tone of the propaganda arm of the American government now that the Health Care Bill is passed.
It will start as a new focus on the economy, and it will essentially come down to an appeal to the investors, innovators and business people that the deal is not all that bad and they will get used to it, and, nudge-nudge, wink-wink, they will find ways to make it all work in their favor as they normally do. Let’s all get along. It is now the law of the land and we might as well get used to it and get back to work. »» Acquiescence
